Since we have a lot of
farm waste like Banana plants waste, shredded leaves from many trees and cow dung, we have introduced earth worms at our farm for vermi-compost preparation. We have prepared waste material shades where material gets decomposed and then earthworms are cultured to form vermi-compost.

Fine granular faeces are seen when vermi-compost is completely ready. At this stage, daily watering must be stopped so that all the worms go at the bottom layer and vermi-compost is collected. It is then introduced at the bottom layer in the second pit for further composting.

Ants are the main enemy of Earthworms. Hence, make water channels around the composting area.
