At Shivalaya Farm,
our objective is to have a commercially viable, socially helpful and an ecologically balanced farm, hosting the best collection of tropical fruits and plants across the world.
To be commercially sound so that we are constantly able to experiment, evolve and expand, we have planted cash crops such as Cashew nuts, Coconuts, Arecanut, Sapote, Mango, Bananas, Bamboos, Teak and so on.
To ensure that our farm is able to contribute to the society, we have cultivated numerous trees and plants that have medicinal value or/and are rare and in demand for medicinal and nutritional reasons.
We have demarcated the land for both commercial purpose, social purpose and also for the collection of plants species for hobby. Today we have a large collection of plants as per annexure and we are continuously on a lookout for newer plants. We are focused at having as many plant species at our farm as we can arrange. We have over 450 varieties of Plumeria, 120 varieties of Water Lily, several rare fruits and medicinal plants.
Having such a large collection of plants species at a single location also offers opportunity for extensive research activity. We have maintained reasonably well documented plant records that serve as an attractive treasure trove of information for students, progressive farmers and agricultural institutions. We are committed to the cause of tropical plants, in every way possible.
