Achievements 
 
Constant innovation and an attitude of not surrendering to or accepting the set conventions have led us towards excellence at Shivalaya Farm. We have set many a benchmarks and have created many a history of firsts owing to this ‘never give up’ attitude of ours. Here are some of our accomplishments in the field of agriculture:

• The west coast tall variety of Coconut normally bears fruits from the seventh year. We achieved results of flowering in just the third year of planting.
• We have successfully introduced multi-layer inter cropping pattern in Coconut.
• We have successfully cultivated tropical and subtropical fruits and achieved fruiting in these exotic plants:
  1. Rambutan seed grown plants started yielding in the fifth year
  2. Eggfruit bears twice in year
  3. Propagated and cultivated with impressive results, the ignored fruits of the Western Ghats such as Flacourtia India (Attak), Wild Grewia spp. (Hasol), Buchania Lanzan (Charoli, Chironji) etc.
• By implementing modern techniques, the plants (crops) growth cycle has been accelerated and their health and quality vastly improved. Given below is a flavor of the success we have tasted:
  1. The yield of Chikku (Sapote) started from the third year.
  2. Yield of Guava started from the second year.
  3. From the third year, 16 Mango saplings yielded over 850 mangoes (15 boxes).
  4. Bananas started producing fruits from the fourth month onwards. In total 4 hectares have yielded Rs. 15000 – 30000 worth of Banana produce.
  5. The yield of Watermelon has grown significantly. In all, 35 tones of fruits were produced.
• We can boast of the largest collection of Plumeria and its many varieties.
• We have the largest collection of Water Lilies, Nelumbo and Aquatic ornamental plants in India.
• We have vast collections of medicinal trees and shrubs of the Western Ghats.
• We have successfully reared and multiplied ornamental fish at our farm.
